The Natural Health
Foundation is a legally constituted not-for-profit organization dedicated to
public health education. The primary aims and objectives of the Foundation are
as follows:
1. To enlighten the
public with regard to the basic principles of healthful living.
2. To share with the
public at large the findings of science with regard to refined and adulterated
foods and drinks.
3. To make every effort to give an enlightened public the opportunity to avail themselves of
unrefined, unadulterated, naturally grown and naturally prepared foodstuffs at
reasonable prices.
4. To communicate
with manufacturers with a view to encouraging them to explore the use of healthier
alternatives to those harmful food additives and food processes that are
currently in use.
5. To encourage the
authorities to amend legislation, wherever necessary, and in such a way that the
consumer is always given the privilege of choice when making purchases.
6. To share with the
appropriate authorities research findings which come to hand and to encourage
them to frequently review legislation in the light thereof.
7. To assist any
interested body in any endeavor to the extent that such endeavor meets with the
aims and objectives of the Natural Health Foundation.
Over the years the
Foundation has had a major impact on public thinking as regards the principles
of natural living. Since its conception, employees and volunteers who support
the Foundation have conducted seminars, given talks, and counseled with
thousands of individuals. The Foundation has also published a number of
health-related books which have received wide distribution.
From 1987 to 1994,
the Foundation's educational outreach was headed by Katherine Reynolds - nee
Dodd (R.N.). Mrs Reynolds was especially selected for this position because of
her wide knowledge of natural healing methods, and because of her many years of
experience working as a specialist nurse in natural healing sanitariums in the
United States.

to 1994, the Foundation conducted special health seminars throughout South

With all these years
of experience behind it, and with an ever-growing number of people expressing
their need for a reliable supplier of fresh, preservative-free whole foods, the
Foundation was instrumental in establishing the health food company that
presently trades under the name Nature's Choice. Originally this company
functioned as the retail arm of the Foundation, but the growth of the company
necessitated that it function independently of the Foundation. This company has
grown from strength to strength and presently boasts over 700 stockists and over
700 products.

spearhead in the Foundation's educational initiative.
One of the
Foundation's primary objectives for the near future is to work in cooperation
with governments throughout the globe in an effort to bring basic health
education to the poorer classes. Because ignorance on health and hygiene is so
rampant amongst the poor and illiterate, and because disease is so widespread
amongst these classes as a result, and because appropriate medical care is
usually out of the reach of the less fortunate, the Foundation considers this as
a critical need. Above all others, the disadvantaged of our world need to
appreciate that prevention is far, far better than cure.
The Natural Health
Foundation is funded entirely by way of public contributions and bequests. The
address below may be used by those wishing to contribute towards the educational
work of the Foundation, and by individuals who share the concerns of the
Foundation to the extent that they would like to remember the Foundation in
their will.
